Our Ministry

Opportunities to serve, whatever your interest or talent

AA is a group for women and men in recovery that meets on Friday evenings.

Acolytes are children, youth and adults who, among other things, carry the Cross, torches and Gospel book in the processions of worship services.

Altar Guild is the order of lay volunteers who prepare the sacred space for worship.

Choir glorifies God in the tradition of Episcopal hymnody and sacred music, led by the choirmaster/organist.

Christ Church School of the Arts offers music instruction to students of all ages.

Coffee Hour hosts a time of fellowship after each service on Sunday.

Community Meal is served at other area churches in Norwich that we support & assist with serving.

Episcopal Church Women - Funds are raised go to community outreach in the Norwich area. In 2010, we gave support to Norwich Fuel and Norwich Food Bank.

Evangelism team members lead the parish in reaching out to newcomers.

Food Locker/Homeless Support collects non-perishable items for people in-need.

Holiday Food Baskets are assembled and donated for family feasts at holiday times.

Hospitality Center provides pizza for the homeless during the winter months.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers take Holy Communion to homebound parishioners.

Lay readers lead the daily office service of Morning Prayer.

Lectors read the lessons and Prayers of the People on Sunday.

Ministers of Communion/Altar Servers assist the priest at the altar and Communion rail during worship.

Newcomers Ministry invites new people and assists them with integration into the life of the parish.

Norwichtown Convalescent Home Service is a monthly worship service for the elderly led by clergy and lay volunteers.

Property Committee oversees the care and maintenance of our historic property.

St. Vincent de Paul Place is the Norwich Soup Kitchen for which we supply the milk.

Spiritual Open Mic is a coffee house that meets at CEC and other church venues monthly in Norwich.

Stewardship is the committee that reminds us to show our gratitude for God's gifts to us.

Sunshine sends cards to parishioners and friends on birthdays, etc.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a weight-loss group that meets at CEC.

Ushers/Greeters welcome and care for worshippers on Sunday morning.

Vestry is the group of leaders elected by the parish to support the clergy and lead the lay ministries of the parish.

Youth Ministry - Sunday church school will begin in the fall.
