Youth

Youth programs are divided into three parts. Part 1 is Rite-13 for grades 6-8. Part 2 is Journey to Adulthood for grades 9-11. Part 3 is Young Adults in the Church for grades 7-12. For more information about children's and youth programs, please contact coordinator Sheila Maudsley.

Rite-13

Leaders: Needed.
Mentors: Needed

Rite-13 is named for a liturgical celebration, held early in the school year, which celebrates the gifts and responsibilities of gender and growing maturity, and provides the foundation for the remainder of the program.

One goal of Rite-13 is to develop a sense of trust and maturity within the group of young participants as they remain together over a two-year period, forming relationships that will be mutually supportive in the future.

Young Adults in the Church

YAC builds over the long term upon relationships established during Rite-13 and J2A. The YAC experience provides additional opportunities for young people to practice their newly acquired skills in the context of the congregation and the wider community. A trained adult mentor is assigned to each young participant.

We will not have class in 2011.
